The Airbus A320 is one of the most modern and recognisable passenger aircraft in the world. The distinctive sidestick, fly-by-wire system and advanced automation make flights exceptionally precise and intuitive. In our simulator, you will experience the Airbus philosophy — completely different from that of Boeings, and based on maximum support for the pilot by onboard systems.
The first flight of the A320 prototype took place on 22 February 1987, and on 18 April 1988 the aircraft entered commercial service with Air France. The A320 model became the basis for an entire family of aircraft: the A318, A319, A320 and A321, which today make up the most popular line of narrow-body machines in the world.
By the end of February 2026, Airbus had recorded over 19,700 orders for aircraft in the A320 family, of which over 12,500 had already been delivered. The A320neo variant, launched in 2016, offers up to 20% lower fuel consumption, 50% lower noise levels and 14% lower operating costs per seat compared with earlier models. Production of the older-generation A320ceo ended in 2019, and Airbus is currently ramping up production to 75 aircraft per month by 2027 to meet the huge demand.
Today, the A320 family is manufactured at four sites: Toulouse (France), Hamburg (Germany), Tianjin (China) and Mobile (USA). It is the A320 that — thanks to its innovation, reliability and versatility — has become the most delivered passenger aircraft in aviation history.
